The first TrainIQA workshop of the ASEAN-QA phase III took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from the 20th to the 24th February 2017 and aimed to introduce the participants to each other and the programme's structure. Furthermore, the participants presented and worked on their individual projects and learnt a lot about quality assurance in higher education institutions, quality management in general as well as different quality management systems and structures. The topics were approached by experts from Europe and the ASEAN region in presentations, discussions and group works. Additionally, there was a little sightseeing programme to get to know Kuala Lumpur and to have some time for networking. Until the final conference in 2018, the participants will meet again during four workshops in Southeast Asia and Europe and they will continuously develop their own projects attended by experts.
