Final Spurt in the ASEAN-QA Training
Organized by Center for Quality Development of University of Potsdam, two workshops for quality management will be held in Southeast Asia this month. One of them will take place in Manila, Philippines between 16th and 19th of October. 30 experts in the fields of engineering and economy from the ASEAN region will participate in the training course for further qualifying themselves as assessors for programmes at university level.
One week later, participants of 22 universities will attend their last training course before the visit on site in February next year. The workshop which will open in Ho Chi Minh City between 22nd and 26th of October will focus on, besides the general topics of quality management in higher education, coordination and drawing up self-reports of programmes which are going to be evaluated. Since October last year, the representatives of the participating universities have been prepared for the site visit and guided for drawing-up a self-report.
The participants of the Assessor Training in Manila will be part of a pool of peers for an international assessor team. Starting February 2012, these teams will conduct site visits at the 22 universities of the ASEAN-QA project. Qualified Universities will be awarded with the AUN-QA Quality Seal.
In addition to the direct support to the participating universities, agencies and experts, the general criterion of quality management in ASEAN region and a joint Southeast Asian university frame are promoted by the project as well.
